The friendship app where whoever invites pays for the outing
A Sugar suggests an outing and covers the cost; a Friend who feels like joining asks in, and goes along freely. Nothing expected in return, just friendship and fun.
Be the first to know when the app is out
The app is coming soon. Leave your email to be notified as soon as it's available on the App Store and Google Play.
Two-step sign-up: you'll first receive an email (in French) to confirm your address.
Are you a Sugar, a Friend… or both?
A spare concert ticket, an exhibition you've been meaning to see for weeks, a table booked and nobody to go with? That's exactly why SugarFriend exists. The Sugar suggests the outing and covers the cost: they create their SugarInvite and pick the participants. The Friend looks at what's happening nearby and raises a hand — they enjoy the outing, owing nothing.
No endless scrolling through profiles: one invitation, one answer, one real outing in real life. A simple way to make friends while going out. And if you can't decide between the two roles, you can take both.
-
Sugar
You like organising. You create your SugarInvites, you pick the participants, and the outing is on you.
-
Friend
You browse the outings suggested around you and ask to join the ones you like. You go along freely, you owe nobody anything.
-
Both
One evening you invite, another you join someone else's outing. Switch whenever you like.
How does it work?
-
The Sugar creates a SugarInvite
The activity, the place, the date, the time, the price range and the number of guests. Two minutes, and the invitation is live.
-
Friends ask to join
Friends nearby who are up for it raise a hand. The Sugar looks at the requests and chooses who takes part.
-
Go out, it's sorted
A chat opens to settle the details, the outing lands in the agenda, and the Sugar covers the cost. Afterwards, each leaves a review of the other.
A category for just about every mood
The spare ticket, the exhibition, the booked table: every one of these has its place here. Each SugarInvite is a specific outing, in a specific category, with a date and a place. Not a vague promise.
Restaurant Drinks Culture Sport Leisure And more…
-
Going to a restaurant
You've spotted a place and going alone puts you off. You create the invitation, someone from the neighbourhood joins you.
-
A concert with a spare ticket
A friend dropped out, the ticket is paid for. Rather than waste it, you turn it into a SugarInvite.
-
An exhibition or a museum
Better with two, if only to comment. And there's always someone who wanted to go but didn't dare alone.
-
Showing someone your city
Someone just moved in or is only passing through? An improvised tour, a coffee on a terrace, and your city becomes a welcoming place.
A clear, open and safe framework
Going out with someone you don't know yet calls for a framework. Ours comes down to a few simple rules, and they never change.
-
The Sugar covers it, always
The Sugar pays for the whole outing, and it's written in the invitation before you even ask to join: you know what to expect from the start.
-
Adults only
Sign-up is reserved for people aged 18 and over.
-
Report and block
You can report a profile, an invitation or a message; blocking cuts off all contact.
-
Reviews after every outing
Sugars and Friends review each other after the outing. Trust is built on real outings, not on promises.
Friendship, nothing else
No flirting, no hidden agenda, nothing expected in return: a SugarFriend invitation is a gift, not a trade. Someone suggests a nice moment, someone else comes along to share it. The name and our little sugar-cube mascots? A deliberately light-hearted wink, to take the drama out of something nobody dares talk about: how hard it can be to find someone to go out with.
The questions we already get asked
Is SugarFriend a dating app?
No. There's no flirting, no profiles to swipe through, no hidden agenda: SugarFriend is for sharing outings and making friends, nothing else. Someone suggests a nice moment, someone else comes along to share it. If you're looking for love, you've got the wrong app, and that's perfectly fine.
Who pays for the outing?
The Sugar, in full, and it's stated in the invitation before anyone asks to join. The Friend doesn't spend a cent. No splitting the bill, no surprises. And it buys nothing: no service, no company, nothing in return.
Do I owe anything in exchange for the invitation?
No. Nothing. The invitation is a gift, not a barter. A Sugar who suggested otherwise is breaking the app's rules: report them, our team takes it from there.
When is the app coming out?
Very soon, on iOS and Android. Leave your email on the home page: we'll let you know the second it's available, and we won't write to you about anything else.
